Hand in Hand for the good cause: Princess Lilly to Sayn-Wittgenstein and her son Prince Donatus to Schaumburg-Lippe bear great responsibility with the starting signal of the mongol rally.
Monday the journey of the Mongol Rally began for Lilly to Sayn-Wittgenstein and her son Donatus, together as Team "Subtitled.
The rally is about 14'000 Kilometers long and has their Destination in Ulan Bator the capitol of Mongolia. Team "Subtitled" tackles this rally in an VW Polo which was designed by Melitta. That the duo is supported by Melitta is not an coincidence. Both traditional houses connects especially one fact: the bearing of social responsibility.
Publicity as a Chance for social responsibility
Two traditions, one connection: constancy respectively continuity are for Melitta as an traditional Company as well as for Sayn-Wittgenstein and Schaumburg-Lippe as noble traditions on top position.
This means to be aware of the responsibility you hold and to take the connected tasks seriously.
Especially these traditional houses know of their public perception and use the mongol Rally as a chance to highlight the problems of children in need and to gather funds for Save the Children and Interhelp.
How important this topic is for Lilly and Donatus gets observable already weeks before the start.
They did an mechanic training as well as diverse first-aid and russian courses.
Now they are on route to Mongolia and have done already their first stops. On Monday they stopped in Halberstadt, Germany to visit a Children's village which is supported by "Save the children". There they met the young Maheb from India who asked several questions and who speaks, just 9 years old, already 5 different languages!
It was an amazing and stirring experience at the same time to meet these children at the camp. The situation for most of the children who are ignored by the state is an desaster. Initatives like "Save the children" help the ...children to avoid getting in criminal conduct because of no other perspective.
Now they are on the route through Austria and get step by step nearer to their Destination!
